31 Years (Day 17)

Tuesday was my 31st birthday. To celebrate Nick suggested a drive through my first two towns….seeing the hospital where I was born, my first home (for four years), my first church, my second home (for seven years), my elementry school, my second church, the family business, and many other locations between. My Mom, Nick, Lya & I made a morning of it and it was fun to have Mom’s memories guide the trip. Especially in the first town…Nick and I would have been driving around aimlessly with faint and broken memories popping out of me every now and then. We took a few pictures of the tour and then I of course took a bunch when we found a great spray-painted wall behind my old school. It was a great idea on Nick’s part and I am so glad my Mom was able to join us. Later that afternoon I got to read and nap and read some more on my own time. Oh, the luxury. So so nice.
