Today is our last day at Red Point. Crazy. This place has certainly felt like home to us over the last seven weeks. I’ve gotten used to the quirks you would think you could not live with long term– having to bring in drinking water (it won’t hurt you…or taste good–the well is quite shallow), the paper-board walls, the loud dirt bikes that lap around the blocks, dial-up internet, etc. We all eased into a rhythmn around these things.
Friday Nick had packed most of his tools, and my parents arrived for the weekend. So today consisted mostly of packing up the rest of it and spending time together. Late afternoon we attended the community picnic across the street and then started to say some goodbyes.
